RWRV Ukaz -- Father Anthony (Bondi)

An "ukaz" in the Russian Orthodox Church means an official decree from a Bishop. Here is the Dec. 18, 2010 ukaz which appoint Fr. Anthony (Bondi) as Pastoral Vicar for the Western Rite.

"Holy Resurrection Orthodox Seminary"?

The Fraternity of St Gregory the Great website lists Fr. Anthony of NYS as Rector of this institution with a TX-based Archimandrite Michael, OSB its Rector.

I'm guessing this is an unaccredited online institution with periodic in person gatherings?

Happy feast. I know nothing about it, but I do think the contact info for archimandrite Michael is on the Fraternity website. And Fr. Anthony is easy to find and track down!

This makes no geographic limitation on the role. Is it thus world-wide for the ROCOR WR?

In a letter written by Fr. Anthony Bondi last fall, he said "...His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion has asked former Archbishop Anthony to be Vicar/Dean of his group of Western Rite parishes. The historic significance of this is that the Orthodox Western Rite will have almost ten new parishes and, when all are received about 18 more clergy. We will have an informal group called The Fraternity of St Gregory." It was posted on Occidentalis. The understanding amongst clergy both within and outside the fraternity is that though the decree does not state a geographic limitation, the position of both dean and pastoral vicar apply specifically to the Fraternity of Saint Gregory the Great as was indicateded in Fr. Anthony's letter.

Fr. Anthony's email address is samoc@optonline.net. I'm sure he would be glad to answer questions about the seminary.
